Caucasus International University

Caucasus International University is a private university in Tbilisi, Georgia. It was founded in 2005 based on the Caucasus School of Business, which was established in 1995 in partnership with the University of Georgia, Atlanta, United States. Over time, International Caucasus University has evolved to become one of the leading institutions of higher education in Georgia and the South Caucasus region.

It has been 29 years since the establishment of Caucasus International University (CIU) – LLC. The university was initially founded as a medical institute in 1995 and received a license from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Georgia in the same year. In 2005, the university obtained accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Higher Education Institutions. In 2006, the institute changed its name and was recognized as a multi-disciplinary educational institution, International Caucasus University.

Caucasus International University received institutional accreditation for a period of 5 years based on the decision of the Accreditation Council for Higher Education Institutions in 2007. On March 4, 2019, according to the decision of the members of the Accreditation Council for Higher Education Programs at the National Center for Quality Enhancement in Education, the number of CIU students increased by 2700.
