The Georgian American University was established in 2001 by Georgian and American partners in Tbilisi. Since its establishment, the American University of Georgia has witnessed various changes, challenges, and achievements. In the academic year 2011/2012, the university added the International Relations and Diplomacy program to the Faculty of Law, resulting in a name change to the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences. In the academic year 2012/2013, considering the successful performance of both the Business Management and Law faculties and taking into account the priorities of the state and market demand, the university opened the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering. In the academic year 2013-2014, the Faculty of Liberal Education and Humanities was added.
